Jerry Allred serves as the executive director of John K. Crosswell Home for Children. Since 2008 when he assumed this position, he has dedicated himself to the ministry of “providing a safe and nurturing Christian community where a child’s spiritual, physical, emotional, social and educational needs can be fully met.” He earned a BS degree in education in 1991 from The Citadel, a MSW in 2001 from the University of South Carolina, and is a LISW-CP and SC certified adoptions investigator. Jerry has spent over 30 years living out his passion for working with children and families throughout the state of South Carolina. He is a member of the Governor’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Council, a former board president and current board member for the Palmetto Association for Children and Families and also serves on the board of Tracy's Camp. Jerry also serves on the board of directors for The Citadel Alumni Association.  He also works as a field instructor for USC College of Social Work, Liberty University School of Social Work, and Central Carolina Technical College.

Jerry attends Christ Community Church in Sumter, SC. He is married to Suzy Armstrong Allred, and has two daughters, Carly and VeVe.
