To all of our Friends of Crosswell who helped make lots of special memories this Christmas...thanks to you all we were able to provide all of our children and the cottages with their Wish List Items and much much more!! 

 

 CHC Wish List
 
Many children at Crosswell arrive with only the clothes they are wearing and a few outfits in a plastic bag. The following list allows Crosswell Home to purchase and/or provide items which can bring a little bit of happiness to a chaotic and confusing day for a child.   This gives Crosswell Home a chance to personalize clothing and shoes to the taste and size each child needs.  It also helps us continue to provide opportunities and activities for the children during their time with us.
 
On-going Items Needed:
 

 

·         GIFT CARDS: Wal-mart, K-mart, Belk, J.C. Penny, etc for purchasing clothing/personal items        
 New Suitcase or Duffle Bag
·         ·         New Standard Size Pillows

·         GIFT CARDS: Fast Food Restaurants, , Ice Cream Shops, Movies, Bowling, Skating, etc. for outings

·         Children Themed Birthday Party Materials such as plates, candles, napkins, birthday cards, etc
·         Personal Hygiene Items such as: toothpaste, deodorant, soap, etc.
·         Baby Wipes
·         Diapers (Size 5 & 6) and Pull-ups (Size 4T-5T boys & girls)
·         Household Cleaning Supplies
 
We can no longer take used items such as: clothes, toys, stuffed animals, bedding, towels, shoes, kitchen items, books, etc.

The items need on this list will be updated and changed on a as needed basis. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator to ask if the items have been spoken for before your purchase.

Long-term Project/ Sponsorship Opportunities:
 
The items listed here are projects that the Crosswell Home for Children sees as a chance for a financial sponsor, such as a corporation or donor, to help us provide more opportunities and activities for the children during their time with us. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you wish to find out more information on how you can sponsor one of the listed projects.
 
·         Completion of Construction of Game Room
·         Resurfacing of Tennis Court
·         Enclosing the Covered Basketball Court
·         Purchasing /Replanting of Trees on Campus
·         Expansion of Dining Hall Facilities/Training Facilities
·         New Baseball/Softball field on Campus
 
 
Volunteer Opportunities:
 
Crosswell Home uses volunteers to enrich the lives of children in a variety of different ways. Volunteer opportunities include a range of activities from a one time special event to an on-going partnership.   Many of our volunteer needs not only include contact with the children, but projects that are focused on the grounds, maintenance of buildings, etc.
 
·         Grounds and Maintenance Projects, such as painting, planting of flowers, etc. (contact Volunteer Coordinator for current list of projects)
·         Tutoring with the Afterschool Enrichment Program
·         Managing/Organizing the Clothing Closet
·         Answering the Office Phone
·         Becoming a Visiting Resource
·         Providing Seasonal/Holiday Parties
·         Organizing Photos of children & alumni
